Our History

Liberty Ministries Thrift was started in 1998 to fund our ministry, Liberty Ministries, which exists to aid offenders in prison and ex-offenders in the community via God’s love, practical assistance, and biblical standards of justice. We started with one small store in Schwenksville, PA, and have since grown into a large operation with 7 thriving thrift stores and two clothing production centers!

  • August 10, 1998

    Our first store opens in Schwenksville, PA under the name “Liberty Thrift.”

  • January 2001

    Our second store, Liberty Home Furnishings, opens in Schwenksville.

  • May 2003

    Our second store, Liberty Home Furnishings, moves to Collegeville, PA & gets renamed “Liberty Thrift & Home Furnishings.”

  • October 2006

    Liberty Ministries opens a 2nd location under the the name “Liberty Thrift & Home Furnishings” in the North End Shopping Center in Pottstown, PA.

  • September 2011

    Our 3rd location under the name “Liberty Thrift & Home Furnishings” opens in the Country Square Shopping Plaza in Quakertown, PA.

  • July 2016

    Our largest store - one of the largest thrift stores on the east coast! - opens in Sanatoga, PA.

  • September 2017

    We rebrand our store locations! “Liberty Thrift & Home Furnishings” becomes “Liberty Ministries Thrift”!
